Questions? We’re always here to help.

How do I get started?

  • First, you—the Plex Pass subscriber—apply to the beta by pressing the consent button on this page.
  • When accepted (usually in a few minutes—but there might be a delay depending on a few, shall we say, dependencies) you will get a confirmation email that you have been enrolled in the beta.

On what devices is the beta currently available?

Roku, Android TV, Fire TV, Apple TV, Smart TVs, iPhone, Android Mobile, and the Plex Web app.

How do I get my friends in the beta?

In addition, all of your friends on Plex (regardless of their Plex Pass subscription status) will also be automatically enrolled in the beta, and also will all get emails notifying them that—as your friend—they are now enrolled in the beta.

What if I don’t want my friends in the beta?

Please note: If you do not want your friends enrolled in the beta, please refrain from enrolling in the beta yourself!

Can I choose my privacy settings?

  • Once in the beta, you and your friends will independently be able to decide how much—or how little—you wish to share with one another by customizing your privacy levels in your account settings.
  • If you so choose, you can make your activities completely private. (But what would be the fun in that?)
  • Most importantly, the choice on privacy is yours and you can change it any time.

Can I invite new friends into the beta?

While you’re enrolled in the beta, any new friend you invite will also be automatically enrolled in the beta.

Where do I provide my feedback?

Please provide feedback on your experience in the Plex forums here.

Can I change my mind later?

While there is no way to opt-out of the beta at this time, there are settings available that will allow you to disable or hide these features. You can also adjust your privacy settings so that you do not share any activity with anyone.

I didn’t sign up for this beta but I’m in it anyway?

That means a Plex Pass subscriber you are friends with enrolled themselves into the beta, and as part of that experience, friends are also enrolled. You can always keep your privacy settings on “private” so that no information about your Watch History, Watch List, or Ratings is shared with your friends or anyone else.
